Brick prices
Plan your brick prices project with a clear scope and an itemized proposal. This guide separates the published benchmarks for this topic from product-only prices.
Price basis: Benchmarks reviewed October 24, 2026. They apply to the scope and market stated below. National and other-city figures are planning references, not verified Portland Metro quotes.
Installation and project costs
Compare each alternative separately. Installation is included only where the stated scope includes it; overlapping totals should not be added.
| Project or reference | Published benchmark | Basis and scope |
|---|---|---|
| Brick prices — Brick installation | $5 – $13 | per sq ft, materials and labor |
Labor cost
These are professional-time or labor-only figures. Check whether materials, permits, disposal and finish repairs are included in your quote.
| Project or reference | Published benchmark | Basis and scope |
|---|---|---|
| Brick prices — Brick laying | $300 – $800 | per 1,000 bricks, labor only |
Define the scope before requesting bids
- Describe the existing condition, the desired result and the exact location of the work.
- Provide measurements, quantities and photos so bidders can price the same scope.
- Ask for separate allowances for preparation, removal, installation and finish repairs where they apply.
- Confirm products, permits, site access, disposal, schedule and exclusions in writing.
Compare the proposals
Match the units and inclusions shown in the price tables. Product-only, labor-only and complete-project figures cover different work. For a Portland Metro proposal, have a local professional confirm the property conditions and the current price.
Material cost
These are purchase-only allowances. Confirm product specifications, quantities and delivery. Do not add them to a project total that already includes materials.
| Product or reference | Published benchmark | Basis and scope |
|---|---|---|
| Brick prices — Brick | $0.35 – $0.90 | per brick, material only |
| Brick prices — Brick | $350 – $900 | per 1,000 bricks, material only |
| Brick prices — Brick pallet | $140 – $470 | about 500 bricks, material only |
